2013 TOWN OF TOPSAIL BEACH CHRISTMAS PARADE
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7TH AT 11 A.M.

We hope you are considering participating in the 10th Annual Christmas Parade at Topsail Beach.  I hope that you will enjoy yourselves as you provide entertainment for this community gathering.  If you are bringing a vehicle to be in the parade, please decorate it in the Christmas spirit.

The parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. from the intersection of S Anderson Blvd and Scott Ave.  This is south of the business section of town and is at the corner where Emma Anderson Memorial Chapel is located.  The parade lineup will begin at 9:45 a.m.  Please make every effort to be at the site no later than 10:00 a.m.  There will be parade organizers there to help you find your “spot” in the parade.

The parade will proceed northward on Anderson Blvd through the business section and turn left at Davis Ave (at the corner where the Beach Shop and Gift Basket are located).  The route will then go two blocks and turn left onto Channel Blvd.  It will end at the vacant lot in front of the Assembly Building at the corner of Channel Blvd and Flake Ave.  Those with participants who need to be transported to and dropped off at the at the beginning point (bands, school and scout groups, etc.) may proceed to the parking lot in front of the Assembly Building where participants can be picked up following the end of the parade.

Please refrain from throwing any objects from vehicles.  Flying objects, no matter how small, can be problematic.  You are welcome to have people walk beside your vehicle to pass out favors, information, etc.  All participants must provide signage for your entry.  The parade organizers will not have signs for you.  Please contact the person listed below if you are planning to participate and have any kind of audible music.  This will help organizers plan an advantageous position for you in the parade.  We ask that you maintain a minimum of 4 car lengths between you and the entry in front of you.  Proceed slowly so the onlookers can enjoy your presence.

If the weather on December 7th looks to be unsuitable for the parade, it will be cancelled.  The parade organizers will attempt to contact you early on Friday or Saturday if the parade is to be cancelled.  We will then talk to you about scheduling a new date.  If you need to contact the parade committee please call either Mary Alice or Jennifer Beard.

Enjoy Yourselves!!!  And thank you for your interest and participation in advance.
